Tom and Amanda’s grandfather begin to investigate the incident – even though someone attacks the grandfather and warns him to back off. Tom's sessions with Amanda started with some exciting facts of a life lived during the Civil War, but he did not know whether the hypnosis was really working or if his friend was faking it.
I was a little hesitant to read a story about a hypnotist, however, I found the hypnotist’s approach is not unlike a counsellor.
If that doesn’t sound like 2020, I don’t know what does. I hope other authors will adopt it as well. The thing I loved most about Alyssa Devine’s writing was the authenticity of her dialogue. Ms. Devine has created a dynamic pair of intelligent, musically gifted high school students who just happen to solve a decades-old cold case multiple murder.
THE NESTING puts a modern spin on a classic Gothic suspense premise, and wraps it all up in the atmosphere of Scandinavia. Cooke’s book THE NESTING, I could hardly believe my good luck.
