SO, we chose this place, the website was so inviting. Been getting my trees here for years! I knew there was a rain storm coming in the afternoon so we got up early and headed out the door by 9:30am for the 45 minute drive. we drove over an hour to get there, beautiful drive, lovely drive way, and arrived on their opening day to a fully staffed, fires a going, marshmallows roasting, hot chocolate pouring adventure. If your'e going for a day in the country.. and you'll buy your tree on the lot and pay a bit more than the nursery... for the experience, then it's worth it. )Many thanks to this wonderful family for providing a great Christmas experience. Pick your own or have a precut tree that are still freshly cut. Seriously. Tree stands were $40. We loved the hot cocoa and marshmallow roasting.. fantastic.. perfect set up.. the only thing missing was the trees. A new shipment of trees has just arrived at Hidden Ponds which will surprise and delight. It was beautiful. It was beautiful. Once on the property, you walk uphill to the rows and rows of trees to pick out one for yourself. Needed trees to plant outside by home as a barrier. Once you finally get to the farm it is small but cozy! If I had to guess, all of the 5 foot trees are gone now.

This year, taking into account my passion to patronize local businesses and my love of Christmas, I thought it would be a fun outing to find a Christmas Tree Farm in New Jersey and chop down our own tree! They are organized, helpful, and cheerful and the prices are outstanding. This place was a super disappointment !! It was a bit scary/ interesting and I was surprised that I didn't see any comments about it. But, we had a lovely walk on the farm, in the snow (bundle up, wear boots) looking.

We have been coming here for years for our family tree and it's the only place that helped us get a tree/stand that *actually* stands up straight. This is in no way a cut your own tree down farm !!

(if you're budget minded.. buy your tree stand elsewhere. Had a great time. Hidden Pond Tree Farm was a wonderful experience! We paid $75. I went to college in Connecticut, where tree farms are about a dime a dozen but in my neck of the NJ woods, I had never seen a tree farm before. Others were super small. There was a young kid that helped us among the crew of older men, and you could tell he was in training for many Christmases ahead! Seems they were not expecting people (which is kind of the reason we went at this specific time). All in all it is a great place, just make sure you have enough gas in your car, wear appropriate shoes and bring CASH to ensure that you will have a great experience.
It was a snowy Tuesday and when we arrived there was no fire, I saw the hay ride and free hot chocolate area. I had a difficult time picking considering all the options were gorgeous. they had some really pretty boxwood wreaths.. small ones around $30. We loved the hot cocoa and marshmallow roasting.. fantastic.. perfect set up.. the only thing missing was the trees.
There literally were maybe 4 or 5 trees that height, all the rest were 2 feet.. not ready for several more years.
Went on opening day at about 4pm.
I hope they are here for many years to come. We came on a weekday and there wasn't a line. What else can you ask for?
We will be back next year!

Hidden Pond Tree Farm was a wonderful experience! Despite diligently watering, the tree it is not taking any of the water. In the meantime, this heavy wet snow is the best kind … I really like the one we purchased. As much as I would have liked that experience, I am so grateful that the tree farm provides a plan B just in case! around the farm and realized how huge this place really is. square shaped around $40. Unfortunately, the rest of this review is not positive. Afraid the tree won't make it to Christmas, tired of vacuuming every day and it is definitely a fire hazard.

I wish they grew a bigger variety of trees/had more smaller pre-cut trees of different varieties. They said there was a wait to get in. The cut your own are $50. I think I will call ahead next year to find out if there are trees on the farm to cut ourselves. for a (barely) 7 foot tree. Great experience, nice people, good prices, great service, close by (although I would take the drive if needed). That's about it. (its a tad small when we brought it home.. but it's beautiful and we think will last through the season. :) TIP:I would recommend going earlier in the day than later as it does get crowded. They were precut and displayed by price points and type very neatly. It is now 4 days before Christmas and the tree is 100% dead, losing all it's needles and dropping ornaments.
Tree stands were $40. It was $80.00. they dropped us off.. and told us we'd probably not find anything above 5 feet, if at all. We dealt with Chris the owner and he was awesome he made my 3 year old very happy with his candy canes, and was very helpful with giving us tree advice about our tree and what's out there that we passed up. It’s a magical Winter Wonderland but due to weather conditions, we’ll be closed again today for snow clearing operations. This “sleep” state slows down the tree’s growth, energy consumption, and metabolism. it has shed completely to the point where there is nothing left on this tree even thought I have watered it every single day. Highly recommended! some families were determined and just settled on the smaller tree and cut them right there. We took a the hayride around the farm and realized how huge this place really is. So my husband and our 3 year old drove about 45 minutes out to specifically come here and it was so worth it. THe least expensive trees were Douglass for $65. We ended up with a 7 foot fraser fir, they cut the bottom as asked, wrapped it in the net and securely tied it to the top of my car. This means we need a big tree. They hayride was awesome and along the way there were several places to stop grab a saw, roast marshmallows, or just jump on stacks of hay. We were so excited. So with a quick internet search and narrowing it down to nearby family farms that take pride in the environment, I quickly found Hidden Pond Tree Farm (I even love the name! Strange advertising. They have a nice set up with pre=cut trees.. that they brought in from ..... Pennsylvania. OPEN M-F 9-5, SAT & SUN 8-5 GET DIRECTIONS, It’s A Perfect Day to Pick Out Your Christmas Tree. Just know that going in.. if you're going for a cut your own tree.. this is NOT the place. They also have trees cut down and onsite for you to peruse. They had - big tree in the cut any tree for 50 and they told me it would be at least 150. It was 1.5 hours. Love that this farm is dog friendly. They instituted a queue to manage the amount of people parking in the lot and on the access road which was a great idea. Since it was storming out, we left the dog in the car; they allow dogs onsite but heed the sign as you enter "Unleashed animals will be recruited for reindeer!"
