Although the north rink is close for the season, the south rink, available for pleasure skating, is still open. I really love this park great for family friends and dates :). Bowness Park is located in the city’s northwest. We enjoy being part of fun, family-friendly activities that are truly part of the Calgary experience.

It was a really relaxed atmosphere and most people were just leisurely making their way around the lake.We rented skates from Sports Rent - I think each pair was about $12/day, and you have until 10pm to return them (on a Saturday anyway). Being on the west side of the city, it makes for a wonderful float through the city, down to Inglewood.It's very nature-y feeling! Rentals are also available at Wilson Mountain Sports in Lake Louise. … I've been going there pretty much since I was born. Beautiful. Our arena is open with the following policies in place to keep users and staff safe for the duration of the COVID pandemic: The facility will be using the main front doors of the facility as the only entrance and the arena south doors will be the only exit. These skating rinks, both indoor and outdoor, are sure to get you excited again about chilly winter weather. A gorgeous location with mountain views, a skate here is a great way to finish up a day in the mountains.

Skating in the winter and taking that raft down the river in the summer. I think I'm going to need to find a different spot to hop on the river this summer! There was a great mix of people there, from a few young kids playing with a ball on the ice, to a few families with really young kids, to couples, to friends just hanging out together. Having just opened in mid-October, Thomson Family Park will host an outdoor skating rink this winter that will be ready by mid-December.
